Sanity in Suffering

Josh Harris shares a couple of stories in his latest blog entry along with a quote from David Powlison about the "joyous sanity" of the believer who trusts God and the gospel in the midst of suffering. It's worth your time to read. Click here to read it.

Thanks for sharing your friends blog Kenny. I think that is something all us Christians need to read daily. It really touched me,and gave me perspective on some things! Robin

Hi Robin!

I knew that there would be many reading the blog who could benefit from what Harris & Powlison had to say. I actually do not know either of these men personally, although I've heard Dr. Powlison speak on campus here at SBTS. They are both well-known authors and ministers. I highly recommend their materials.

For further perspective on suffering, etc., check out an article written by John Piper and revised by David Powlison.

John Piper was diagnosed with prostate cancer many months ago, and he wrote an article entitled, "Don't Waste Your Cancer." David Powlison has also been diagnosed with cancer, and earlier this year he added a paragraph of his own to each of Piper's paragraphs.

I don't know exactly what you're going through, and I bet it's probably not all physical. However, this article is really a good reminder of how to look at and respond to suffering in general.

Justin Taylor has a link to the article on his blog:

Blessings, Robin!
